A Pietermaritzburg businessman who allegedly fired 12 shots at a man he suspected of having an affair with his wife, “can’t be trusted” and has been denied bail.

Magistrate Nitesh Binessarie said on Friday that he is not of the view that the public will be safe if Sandile Clever Sibiya (30) is granted bail.

Sibiya, who ran Supreme National Stockholdings (SNS Holdings) — an alleged Ponzi scheme — was out on bail for allegedly contravening the Bank Act and fraud when he was charged with the attempted murder of Sibusiso Ndlovu in March, in West Street.
