A Sydney alleged love scammer also accused of being involved in a multi-million fraud syndicate has failed yet again to be considered for bail.
Siriluck Fatima Chimmalee argued the $9.7 million fraud syndicate alleged against her had been reduced to $1.9 million which was a “significantly less” accusation.
But Justice Richard Button on Thursday said this was still “a vast sum of money” said to have been taken by dishonest criminality.
He rejected the 28-year-old’s claim that this, and other matters, amounted to new material or circumstances which would enable her to make another Supreme Court bail application.
Since going into custody in February 2020, Chimmalee has been refused bail by three Supreme Court judges and a District Court judge, while two other bids to apply for bail have been refused.
She faces a string of charges, some related to an alleged sophisticated romance scam involving connecting with NSW men via online dating platforms.
