Internet scammers are having the tables turned on them by vigilantes who hack their computers and record them in action.

Videos posted online show computer experts ensnaring the would-be fraudsters by using their own tactics against them and exposing the identity of the panicked criminals.

One cyber-vigilante, Ansar Hamed, runs a YouTube channel that compiles videos from various examples of the practice, which is known as “scambaiting”. An upload on April 7 has more than 15,600,000 views and shows Hamed explaining a scam from a caller who is pretending to be from Amazon and then tracking him down to India.
