The phone scam saga in Ireland continues as the latest method of contact has been reported online and involves text messages as opposed to the ongoing calls people have been receiving.

Fraudsters are now messaging people that hold Irish mobile numbers claiming to be from the Bank of Ireland.

The message reads; “We have temporarily limited access to your BOI online due to failed login attempts, to reauthenticate visit; 356login-ie.com.”

Bank of Ireland took to their official Twitter account to respond to the numerous people reporting the latest scam and said; “This is indeed a fraudulent text message.

“Please delete this text. Rest assured our security team have been managing this.

“We appreciate your caution and vigilance in spotting this.”
