A scam is targeting elderly metro residents.Oklahoma City and Edmond police issued a joint warning.Authorities say suspects will call demanding money over the phone to bail out family members from jail. The scam has cost metro residents thousands of dollars.Oklahoma City police wanted to alert the public about the scam.“We have a suspect calling our victims saying they have a family member in jail and they need money to bond this family member out,” OKC Police spokesman Sgt. Dillon Quirk said. Quirk said victims believe the call is legitimate since the caller provides real names and information about their family members.“Our suspects actually obtain information from our victims, show up at their house and gain cash and money to get family members out of jail,” Quirk said.
