KUCHING, July 26 — A civil servant working in Bau has lost RM160,000 after falling victim to a Macau scam.

Sarawak Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) chief Supt Maria Rasid said the police received a report on the case on Saturday (July 24).

“According to the victim, on July 4, 2021, he had received a call from 03-26129600 from an unknown woman, who claimed to be from the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN), who said that the victim has an outstanding amount of taxes amounting to RM38,000 from a marketing and supply company. However, the victim denied it.
