The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued notices summoning office bearers of four cooperative banks in the Maharashtra State cooperative bank (MSCB) scam. The cooperative banks which have been issued notices are Satara District Cooperative bank, Pune District cooperative bank, Sindhudurg district Cooperative bank, and Ratnagiri District cooperative bank.

According to sources, office bearers of these banks have been summoned regarding fictitious loans granted to sugar mills and then regarding the auction of the sugar mills. The Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar was also Director of the Pune district cooperative bank and the bank had given loans to the Jarandeshwar sugar mills being run by a relative of Pawar.

The ED on July 1 attached Jarandeshwar sugar mill in the Maharashtra State co-operative scam case which was being investigated by the agency. The said mill is said to be reportedly being run by a relative of Deputy Chief Minister…
