ELMHURST, IL — In the last few days, Elmhurst have handled cases involving a domestic battery, retail theft, playground damage, a missing laptop, a stolen car, DUIs and driving violations. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Domestic battery

  • Robb Tavill, 55, of Elmhurst, was arrested about 7 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of South Argyle. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. According to police, Tavill struck the victim during an argument.

Retail theft

  • A man removed three bottles of bourbon, concealed them in his waistband and tried to steal them about 9:30 p.m. Sunday at Mariano’s, 678 N. York St. He was stopped by security as he was leaving the store. The bottles were recovered, while the man ran out and went into a black four-door car.
