New York, NY—The President of the 17th Precinct Community Council met again with the 17th Precinct Commanding Officer last week to discuss a variety of topics, such as the crime complaints contained in the recent CompStat report and the recent protests at the Israeli Consulate General on East 42nd Street.

But first the council’s president, Matt Roberts, and the CO, Captain Aaron C. Edwards, recognized two cops of the month—Sgt. Teresa Wilson and Police Officer Justin DeJesus—for their extraordinary police work. Sgt. Wilson wasn’t available for the recognition during the meeting on Tuesday evening from the precinct.

Captain Edwards explained the circumstances. On Tuesday, May 11 a pedestrian in the confines of the 13th Precinct was struck by a motor vehicle, which fled the scene. It subsequently struck multiple cars on the FDR Drive, causing a collision.
