SUBLETTE COUNTY — The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that today it has been receiving reports of a new localized scam where the caller tries to obtain credit card information.

According to a social media post from the Sheriff’s Office, residents are reporting being called from a representative of the Rock Springs Phone Directory or yellow pages wants them to “update your information.” The caller also offers businesses an ad in the book and asks the residents for their credit card information.

One resident contacted the phone book company directly and discovered the new scam. Please be careful and never give out personal information.
