The Department of Health has issued advice to people on how to protect their data following the recent cyber attack on the HSE.

Last week it was confirmed that medical information of 520 patients had been leaked online.

While there have been no further reports of people’s person information appearing on the dark web a spate of scam calls have been doing the rounds as fraudsters seek to capitalise on the hack.

And Gardai fear there could be more to come with the possibility of more information landing online.

As a result the Department of Health has issued a range of advice to help people stay vigilant against cyber attacks and online fraudsters.
