As the couple turned to an ashamed Samson, Lydia shouted: “Why would you do something so stupid? You know what this family has been through we don’t need any more trouble.”
Despite protesting that he did it for Lydia, Sam launched into a rant after discovering that Samson was there at the time of the attack – and yet he did nothing to stop it.
“You what?” Sam raged. “You mean you watched it and didn’t lift a finger to protect Lydia?”
As Samson tried to reason with his dad, Sam said: “It’s a little too late. You should be ashamed of yourself. Doesn’t family mean anything to you?
“Dingles stick up for each other, Dingles fight for each other. You’re not even worthy of the name, you’ve really let Lydia down.”
“I know and I’m ashamed of what I’ve done,” Samson added.
As the episode came to a close, Samson told his dad and Lydia that he wasn’t worthy of the Dingle name.
