Are you aware of smishing? Despite its fun sounding name, “smishing” is not a new social media platform or a gaming app. It’s actually a vicious method scam artists use to gain access to your money.
“Smishing” scams use text messages as a way to steal information from you. Scammers send a text, claiming that your debit card has been compromised or suspended. It asks that you provide your card information in order for the card to be reactivated. You’re directed to either reply to the text message or call the number provided in the message.
