A man once on Niagara Region’s “most wanted” list was sentenced recently in Brantford’s Ontario Court for stealing construction equipment from a local rental business.
Brody Racine, 40, pleaded guilty to theft over $5,000 when he appeared before Justice Kathleen Baker, who sentenced him to four months concurrent with the penitentiary sentence Racine is already serving for other crimes.
Baker also ordered Racine to repay $5,922.72 to Northgate Rent-all.
Racine was arrested last June by Niagara Regional Police and charged with a series of frauds that involved getting money for construction projects and failing to do any work.
He was charged with multiple counts of fraud over $5,000 and under $5,000, theft over $5,000 and possession of stolen property.
